Ashley Todd, a 20-year-old Texas woman, working for the McCain campaign caused national headlines this week after she was attacked, robbed, and beaten by a large black man while using an ATM.
The man robbed her, but then took exception to her McCain Palin sticker, and so began to punch and kick the woman before concluding his assault by carving the letter B into her face with a blunt knife, telling her that he was going to 'make her an Obama supporter' and 'teach her a lesson.'
Sarah Palin called the woman and her family personally to talk to her about the horrific attack.
Shocking stuff.
All the more shocking when it was announced by police investigators today that the entire story was made up, and there was no evidence to support the claims.
In fact the police are convinced that the wounds are self inflicted, and are contemplating charging her with making false statements and accusations. They have also indicated that they are concerned about her mental health, which is understandable considering she supports McCain Palin for president.

I thought that story sounded entirely fake when I read it this morning. Looks like I was right.
Oh, did you notice in the 2nd picture she's wearing a Tennessee Volunteers sweater? :) It's a nice touch.
