President-elect Barack Obama has won North Carolina according to the Associated Press.This historic win is the first time a Democrat has taken North Carolina since 1976 when Jimmy Carter won it.
With 15 electoral college votes for the state it takes Obama's impressive total to 364. McCain stands at 173.
